Last week we talked about getting out in the daylight and how much of a difference that can make to both you and your little one.
This week, I wanted to make things a little easier for you and pull together some simple ideas for the Easter break. Whether you have a baby, toddler or school-age child, there are some lovely options locally to get you out of the house without it feeling like a big effort.
I’ve included a mix of free and paid activities, indoor and outdoor and things that work around naps and changing weather (because… the UK weather isn’t always the best).
Easy, low-pressure activities
If you’re just looking for something simple to break up the day, these are a great place to start.
Touchwood Easter craft sessions (Solihull)
These are perfect if you want something quick and easy while you’re already out. Short, 25-minute craft sessions where little ones can make something to take home.
Solihull Family Hubs sessions (free)
If you need something local, free and low effort, these are always a good option.
Sometimes these kinds of sessions are the easiest win during the holidays. No big planning, just turn up and enjoy.
When you want a bigger day out
If you’re planning a full day out, there are a few options that feel a bit more special.
Warwick Castle Easter event
This is one of those “make a day of it” outings with lots going on for the whole family.
British Motor Museum (Gaydon)
A really good all-weather option with Easter activities alongside the museum.
Short and simple outings (perfect around naps)
Not every day needs to be a big day out.
Stratford Butterfly Farm
Warm, calm and visually lovely with short demos throughout the day.
This kind of shorter outing can work really well if your little one is going through a phase where sleep feels a bit unpredictable. If that’s something you’re navigating at the moment, you can always reach out.

Fresh air and space to run around
If your little one just needs to move, explore and burn some energy, these are great options.
Compton Verney outdoor sessions
Think mud play, crafts and stories. A really nice outdoor reset.
Charlecote Park Easter trail
A relaxed outdoor trail you can do at your own pace.
Kenilworth Castle Easter quest
Perfect for children who enjoy a little adventure and a reward at the end.
A gentle reminder
You don’t need to fill every day.
Some of the best days over the holidays are the simplest ones. A short outing, some fresh air and a change of scenery can make a big difference without overwhelming you or your child.

A couple of practical tips
• Book ahead where needed
• Have a simple backup plan
• Keep outings shorter than you think you need
• Don’t worry if plans change
If you do try any of these, I’d love to hear what you get up to.
